October is

The Countdown Years (1974-1987)

This October, Coast FM 963 is celebrating The Countdown Years (1974–1987) with the Classic Hits Crew from 6am to 6pm weekdays. Relive the magic of one of Australia's most iconic music eras, inspired by the legendary ABC TV show Countdown. From the birth of colour television to Molly Meldrum's unforgettable moments, Countdown shaped the soundtrack of a generation and launched the careers of countless Australian artists while introducing us to international stars.

Across the month we'll be spinning the songs that defined those 13 incredible years — from Skyhooks, Dragon, John Farnham and INXS to global acts that took the stage on Countdown. It's a celebration of the music, the memories, and the culture that brought Australia together every Sunday night, now reborn on Coast FM all October long.
