The Great American Songbook
This July on Coast FM 963, we're turning the spotlight on the stars and stripes of sound with The Great American Songbook — not the jazz standards you might be thinking of, but a month-long celebration of the greatest songs ever written and recorded by American artists from the 60s through to the 90s.
From the California sunshine of The Beach Boys and the Motown magic of Marvin Gaye, to the heartland rock of Bruce Springsteen and the timeless harmonies of Fleetwood Mac, we're bringing you the American classics that shaped a generation and changed music forever.
Join the Classic Hits crew every weekday from 6am to 6pm as we roll out iconic tracks, dive into the stories behind the songs, and relive the golden years of US music across soul, rock, pop, disco, folk and beyond. It's a red, white and blues-soaked tribute to the music that defined an era.
Only on Coast FM 963 – where Classic Hits live..
